Who Was Genghis Khan?

Morning Genghis!

Ever seen this guy before?

That's Genghis Khan.

The guy who conquered like all of Asia…

So who the heck was this guy?

Well, the year is 1162… (ish)

And a lil baby called Temujin is born.

Right here on the Mongolian steppe:

His father is then poisoned.

And the rest of his family is kicked out of their tribe.

And then he gets kidnapped…

So, not off to a great start.

But this makes Temujin realise something… 

So he somehow escapes the kidnappers…

And starts making alliances with other tribes.

And it turns out… He was a pretty great leader!

And a fierce warrior!!

So he unites all these Mongolian tribes…

And is given the name Genghis Khan! 

Which translates to UNIVERSAL RULER.

And then he's like: 

So Genghis and his army decide to conquer China, Central Asia, much of the Middle East and a bit of Europe.

Uniting it under one empire, the Mongol Empire!!

That's pretty sick, Genghis…

Aaaaand then, at the age of 65, he falls off a horse and dies…

Lol.
