The Man Who Time-Traveled 0.2 Seconds

Morning time travelers!

This guy…

Time traveled 0.2 seconds into the future!!

Oh… IT IS.

Lemme tell ya.

So the year is 1991.

Soviet cosmonaut Sergei Krikalev is flown out to the soviets owned space station MIR.

But then…

The soviet union… collapsed!

Meaning they couldn't come get him.

Ya, Sergei was stuck up in space for 311 days.

Eventually, someone comes to get him, but because of this little error, Sergei officially holds the record for the longest time in space with a cumulative 803 days, 9 hours, and 39 minutes!

Why is that important?

Well, enter… Einstein!

Thanks Einstein!

Ok, so Sergei was up in space for 803 days traveling

And he was traveling at approximately 17000 miles per hour.

This means he was experiencing time a TEENY TINY bit slower than everyone else back home.

Meaning by the time he got back home, everyone else had aged 0.2 seconds more than he did.

Which is technically time travel!

Stay Cute,
