The Bizarre Invention of Monopoly 🎩
Yes, it's true… We may be dropping the first-ever Smart Nonsense hat with our BFFs, Goorin Bros (legendary hat makers since 1895).
But here's the deal:
1) We don’t know which hat design looks best… so we’re leaving it up to you. Whichever hat gets the most votes… wins!
2) If we make them, the first edition will be a limited run.
Oh... and it'll be exclusive—so the winning colorway won't be available after it sells out.
Morning Monopolists!

The original Monopoly game–

Was ACTUALLY an ANTI monopoly game..
There’s spaces for the absolute necessity clothing:

Shelter:

Food:

Beggarman’s Court:

And my fav – The Slambang Trolley:

It’s called The Landlord’s Game
It’s a crazy story..
So, 1903.
We’ve got this lady Lizzie Magie:

Why Liz?

I mean, makes sense!
At the time, the US is OBSESSED with monopolies.
We’ve got railroad tycoons:

Banking dudes:

Oil barons:

Which, creates a problem!
Normal people are getting CRUSHED.

No no, like economically

So Liz has an idea!
She’ll make a board game to PROVE that greed sucks.
It’ll have properties you buy, rent you collect, and players going bankrupt.

And it starts spreading through colleges and activist groups..

But this dude Charles Darrow shows up and notices players don’t get the anti monopoly thing at all..

they LOVE THE FANTASY OF MONEY!!

So he cleans the game up. He adds dazzling names like Park Place, Pacific Ave, And Marvin Gardens:

Markets it as a rags-to-riches game, anddd now it’s the Monopoly we play!

Stay Monopolized,
Henry & Dylan 🌈
