Let’s watch that same thing in real life now:

They make it look all sloppy, right??

I PROMISE you, what’s actually happening isn’t what you think..

See, dogs can’t suck in water like humans do.

They’ve got this biggggg long tongue.

But when they’re thirsty, that thing flicks out of their mouth:

And SLAMS into the water with 8gs.

Like 8 times the pull of gravity.

Kinda like this:

That’s a lot of g’s.

BUT LOOK!

When their 8g tongue hits the water, it’s not doing what you think:

They turn their tongue back-ways, creating a little soup ladle.

That soup ladle pulllssss a column of water up toward their muzzle.

But when that column gets to their mouth:

They can’t create suction to swallow. 

So they..

Bite it off!
